Welcome to the website of the North West Retired Greyhound Trust. Our aim is to
rehome as many retired racing greyhounds as possible and to raise people's awareness of
this very gentle and loving breed. We cover the whole North West area such as North
Wales, Chester, Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire and surrounds.
The branch was formed in December 2007 and our first dog was rehomed on 21st January
2008. All the members of the branch have worked with a number of greyhound charities in
the past and have been very active in the re-homing and welfare of these wonderful animals
so we decided to put all of our experience together and have now formed North West
Retired Greyhound Trust (NWRGT)
If you are wanting to re-home a greyhound or just thinking about it contact us and we will
be happy to help in any way.
You need to fill in a pre-homecheck questionnaire before you can have a dog which you can
find here. Just click the submit button when you have finished and we'll be in touch. If you
would prefer to give us you details over the phone just ring instead on 01270 257 525.
There is some information about what the care of a greyhound (or in fact any dog!) will
entail. Information on diet, exercise, temperament and other important aspects of their
care can be found here too.

| Next Event - 29th November 2008 - North West RGT's Christmas Fair. Port Sunlight Church Hall (the church hall is NOT situated by the church!), Bridge Street, Port Sunlight Wirral - 11am till 3pm - Come and help us celebrate Christmas!! meet the greyhounds and there will be RGT merchandise on sale. We will be offering microchipping for £10, meet the All Natural Pet Food Company and have a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie too. You can also stock up on your 'greyhound' Christmas cards too. |
